The rule of the basic supply and demand is conclusive!
For high offers and low demands, used motorcycle prices drop. Prices will go down when there are lots of bikes for sale but fewer buyers. The lowest prices usually appear in autumn and winter while spring and summer months have the highest demand of all.

The popularity of the model also influences used motorcycle prices.

Popular models are more expensive. Some motorcycles enjoy a reputation as classics from the very beginning, while others never hit this level. A solid but less popular bike is cheaper, although used motorcycle prices vary a lot. A not so popular one or two-year old model will come cheaper.
...

BMW motorcycles are produced by BMW Motorad, a German company that has been in this business since the early 1920s. Although the beginnings of the company are closely related to the production of aircraft, it was in 1923 that the first motorcycle was produced in a BMW factory. Currently, they have plants in Berlin, Austria, Taiwan and China. The models that they manufacture and produce belong to very different categories from 450cc to 1300cc. Some are designed for touring activities while others correspond to sport, off-road and dual purpose applications.

BMW motorcycles have won a great reputation by winning lots of competitions and prestigious races in national and international contests. Take for instance the Dakar Rally that runs from Europe to Africa every year. BMW motorcycles are a constant presence of this race, not to mentioned that they have won six titles in this competition so far. The BMW S1000RR design put BMW motorcycles among the bikes that participated in the Superbike World Championship in 2008 and 2009. Anyone who wishes to buy a BMW motorcycle can choose from several product categories.

The F series have 800cc capacity, parallel-twin engines and they use either a chain or a belt drive. The G series have a smaller cylinder capacity ranging from 450 to 650 cc. They have a single cylinder and they feature a chain drive. The G series is produced exclusively in Asia, with the 650cc engines made in China and the 450cc models in Taiwan.

There are two models available in the R series: R1200GS, R1200T. They all have a shaft drive, twin cylinders and 1200cc capacity. The BMW motorcycles in the K series have four engines and a cylinder capacity of 1200-1300cc. These too are large models, and you can choose between K1200LT, K1200R, K1300GT, K1300S and K1300R. Sports bikes with four inline engines and 999cc are available in the S series. This BMW motorcycles enjoy one of the highest popularity levels.
...

All sports motorcycles fall in the street category. The manufacturing of sports bikes follows a permanent optimization process of the features and an effort to improve performance. Sometimes, the rider’s comfort gets sacrificed in the process. The forefather of modern sports motorcycles was produced by Vincent Motorcycles, a company that produced bikes that reached astounding speeds back in the 50s. The first real sport bike was produced by Honda in 1969. And sports motorcycle have been acclaimed ever since as the most sophisticated bikes of all.

The first sports motorcycles produced by Honda had an in-line 4-cylinder engine, and front disk brakes, opening the door for new bike technologies. Japanese motorcycle manufacturers entered a really tough competition once the Kawasaki Z1 was released. The Japanese ‘bike war’ put a stop to the expansion of the British motorcycle industry, because they were outrun. Japanese sports motorcycles thus became known as the best in the world, and they still maintain this reputation.

With sports motorcycles, the rider is interested in bike maneuverability, speed, acceleration, braking and cylinder capacity. All the incorporated systems have to be durable and stable, with ultra-high standards of performance for the breaks and the suspensions. In comparison with other bike categories, sports motorcycles use larger tires so that they can corner and lean at high speeds. Moreover, wind protections and external panels are meant to reduce the aerodynamic drag.

Normally, sports motorcycles are used for racing, and they are less practical for street use as compared to other bikes. Without good windshields, center stands and saddle bags, they can hardly provide comfort for the rider. Aerodynamics and weight distribution matter more than ergonomics and the rider’s position. It suffices to say that most of the rider’s body weight needs to rest over the tank and you can understand that the position is not exactly one to assume for long rides.
...

The BMW Z4 still leaves mouths a-gapping. The wining successor to the original Z3, the Z4 is still the only two-seat sports car in BMW’s lineup. This car was designed to respond to the BMW Z3’s drawbacks, that it is a bigger automobile, stiffer chassis, and a mutli-link rear suspension. It’s not totally unexpected, the Z4 remains much your regular sports car. The Z4 styles a front engine sending power to rear wheels, a long and slopped down hood leading to the driver, and ample legroom for driver and passenger. The total experience is powerful, thanks in part to its tight responsiveness and powerful straight six cylinder engine. The BMW Z4 still leads the rest of the convertible pack, being a perpetual winner.

Though BMW introduced a coupe version of the Z4 in 2005, the convertible version remains the most popular and fulfilling. Though with the top down, one should purchase a BMW Z4 windscreen, a must-have accessory. Another worthy upgrade is from the standard five gear box transmission to the six speed automatic. Two different trim levels are provided for the BMW Z4, the 3.0i and 3.0si, with the 3.0si being the more popular one.

BMW is introducing a new Z4 version in 2009. The most signficant update is the retractable hard top. This new two piece hard top opens and closes within twenty seconds, just by the push a button. With a new style of hard top, aBMW Z4 wind deflector, is still a first-choice purchase. Of course, this new hard top convenience comes at the sacrifice of trunk space. A most subtle evolution is the swept back headlamp style, front air dame details, and hood creases, giving the overall appearance of the 2009 Z4 a more aggressive look. If you’re lucky enough to land a 2009, then your ears will be pleased with its 16 speaker system.

With a BMW Z4, you will have a rewarding driving time. The enthusiansts note the car’s quick reflexing and sudden acceleration. You will not be disappointed with the BMW Z4.
...

There are many people who want to buy used motorcycles either because they do not have enough money to invest in a new one or because they want to customize it in some peculiar way. Unique deals and rides can also be found on the second hand market, but you have to know how and where to shop.

The bike type is extremely important. Don’t let yourself impressed by technical features, variety and designs. Scooters, sports bikes, touring bikes and cruisers come with a rich offer. You can actually find anything you want on the second hand market from dirt bikes to dual purpose and enduro designs. Regardless of what model you decide to choose, it is important to get one that you feel comfortable with and which has a reasonable amount of wear.

When used for off-road rides, lots of bikes have the suspension worn extensively. Don’t overlook such an issue when you have made up your mind to buy used motorcycles. When the bike is in a good technical condition the price is usually higher. The price variation also depends on where you shop: dealers usually have higher prices, while private owners are more flexible. Try to check a list of used motorcycles for sale on the Internet and see what the general offer looks like.

If you buy used motorcycles you have to make sure that they will not need hundreds of dollars for maintenance, because that’s the worst deal possible. Check all the details necessary to make sure that the purchase is good, reliable and safe for you. Moreover, test rides will tell you a lot a bout used motorcycles. Don’t get blinded by the great looks, you can only get an idea about how well the bike fits you by riding it.
...
