The Pros and Minuses of Bicycles against Motorscooters
Saturday, November 7th, 2009
The convenience of going to any place can actually be felt by having your own set of wheels. It is, conversely, not easy to acquire like buying it straight from a grocery store. There is some serious money-saving to do, and having a vehicle is not a one-time spending activity. Gasoline and maintenance fees are things that automatically go with the purchase of your dream vehicle.
Nowadays, single-person vehicles are becoming alternatives for people. Motor scooters could be a good choice for you. Let us compare and contrast the two single-unit vehicles.
Both bicycles and motor scooters are only capable of carrying one to two persons. Big parking spaces are not a requirement for both vehicles, and riders do not need to seriously study how to drive bikes and motorcycles. Still, the two have more discrepancies than similarities, so let us take a look at those.
No smoke of any kind comes out from bicycles. They are cheaper than motor bikes because they only have the wheel and axle as their main machines. They do not need gasoline and only undergoes occasional maintenance, so you don’t have to spend that much. However, riding one would actually drain the energy of a biker because he/she has to keep pedaling until destination is reached. If the destination is considerably far, then using a bike is not a good idea. Plus, there areas the do not allow the use of bicycles, such as expressways and boundary highways.
Because of the presence of engine, a motorcycle will undoubtedly give out smoke. Of course this is not true with electric motorscooters, only gas scooters. The price of scooters, compared to bicycles, should expectedly be higher. They need gasoline to run and should be taken to a motorcycle maintenance center on a regular basis. However, this does not require pedaling like a bicycle does, so it will not drain the energy out of the motorist. This would be a plus if the destination is a bit far. They are also not allowed at certain places, but the number of these areas blocking bicycles is comparatively more. The faster speed motorcycles have is also a major plus.
The affordable cost of bicycles makes it a good choice for the more conventional rider. It is a way of exercise and does not harm the environment. The motorcycle, on the other hand, goes with the more adventurous rider. You can go to faraway places, not worry on pedaling and be confident with the speed.
To choose what will help you in your travel still relies on your decision. Some people may find the motorcycle’s benefits in a bicycle. The same thing would apply for the motorcycle.
Vehicles like the bicycle and the motorcycle are considered to be something not owned for life. Meanwhile, cars and vans’ days are numbered if one finds it being his/her vehicle for life.
